If you could see beyond these walls that I have erected you might see a heart that is longing to be loved. And if you could just stay long enough to really know me. Setting me free from all of my pain. Break away from all that has kept me locked inside. Letting go of all the walls that I have built around my heart.
Lucky It will be a long journey ahead but one that will be the most rewarding. We named her "Lucky"..because we felt that we are the "lucky" ones to have the chance to give her a life of love and respect.

More on Cody....
After Animal Welfare called to let us know that Cody was surrendered and after he arrived at Last Stop Horse Rescue, we received an email from the young girl that had owned Cody asking if he was happy. I learned that this family had several young children and financially things were hard for them and they could no longer care for or feed Cody. "Lexie" would love Cody each day and spent countless hours "telling him her stories" while brushing and sharing granoli bars that were her snacks for school. I realized that "rescue" isnt just taking a horse after Animal Welfare calls. Sometimes It is also about people who love their horses and have lost the ability to feed them and then have to ask for them to be taken to a place that can provide food and vet care. And.... sometimes there are innocent children that have loved these horses but had no choice but to watch the rescuer take them away.
Lexie is reunited with Cody at Last Stop Horse Rescue. Lexie spent her February vacation here at Last Stop Horse Rescue / JC Horse Farm loving Cody and all the other horses that live here. Lexie is now a special part of Last Stop Horse Rescue and is now planning her own bake sale to help raise money to help feed the rescues.
