This is old but I thought it was worth posting again. Just wanted to say that after my visit to the rescue that you are truly a rescue with a heart and not one that is more worried about the financial agenda. Joyce is truly there to help the horses that come there. She is not worried about turnover - they are there to be rehabilitated. A lot of horses are abused because of there actions not all horses are the perfect horse - not that with the right training they can't be, but that takes time and sometimes money. So that horse gets passed on until no one wants to deal with it anymore. Yes there are also those horses that people just don't take care of or don't have the money or knowledge to care for and those too need to be rehabilitated but in a different way. Joyce is dedicated to helping all of these horses no matter what it takes. Non profit means just that - you don't make money you use what you get to take care of the horses. If you are rescuing horses to use for a profit you are not rescuing horses, it is an investment if they are being used for something like riding lessons - they are working. Not being rehabilitated and found a new home. All of you nice generous people please be aware that not everyone who says they are a rescue truly have the horses best interest in mind or have the knowledge to help them even if they have good intentions. Please check them out before sending money their way - there are a lot of good people in the horses business but there are just as many crooked ones. I do have an idea because I have owned, trained, and even rehabilitated a few for more than 40 years. Joyce keep up the good work. Its a wonderful thing you are doing.

Hi, I am very interested in visiting your rescue! My husband met one of you sisters at Tractor Supply in Bangor and gave him your card! I am so in love with horses but don't have much experience and truly believe in equine therapy! I would love to come and volunteer and learn everything you and the horses have to teach me. I live in brewer so it is about an hour and half drive but am willing to drive it to start to heal! I read and watched everything on your site and am so touched I laughed and I cried at all I saw! I am in amazement and wonder of these beautiful creatures and would someday like to own a rescue of my On my way! I love all animals and have rescued so many over my lifetime! I hope you will consider my request to volunteer! I am so proud of what you do and would like to help!

I just finished going through you "In Memory Of" page and cried the whole way through it. Thank you for all the rescues you have done and continue to do. You are a blessing. Both my dog and my 17 1/2 year old cat are rescues and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I love what I see. My dad when he was here with us we had a small barn with up to 20 horeses, ponys, pigs, goats and cows. More then once we had babys born in the winter , dad had to add onto the barn twice just for emergenys. I truesly miss not being with horses,
I kind of feel lost they seem to have a way to help people when needed. I use to have a mare at my family home but they gave her away and I cant seem to find her but I keep LOOKING.
